Automotive Holdings Group is Australia’s largest automotive retailer. They operate 103 dealerships across 4 Australian States and New Zealand and sell 10 out of 11 of Australia’s top passenger car brands.
Background
AHG approached Gomeeki with the desire to create a mobile site that would replicate the key functionalities of its website and provide a best-in-class rich customer experience for its users Australia & New Zealand wide. Gomeeki were entrusted with the task of developing a site which would also capitalise on the unique features possible with smartphone technology, such as click-to-call and location based services. Furthermore, AHG required a mobile solution which would allow each of its 103 dealerships to add, update & promote their own content based on stock movements and new promotions.
Approach
Car hunting shouldn’t have to mean spending your whole weekend battling heavy traffic, used car salesman & hoards of people. The Gomeeki developed Mobile Website for Automotive Holdings Group (AHG) allows for convenient, leisurely & detailed pre-purchase information gathering when it comes to making choices about your next vehicle. With more & more people using their mobile devices to search for product information and conduct price comparisons on-the-go, it made sense.
Design aims were to make the AHG site as easy to navigate as possible for hassle free vehicle & dealership info search via mobile, while allowing the dealerships event banners to stand out.
As a result the site is clean, clutter free, in line with AHG’s brand guidelines, consistent with the design elements of their existing website & wonderfully concise.
Gomeeki integrated its cutting edge Digital Marketing platform “Ubiquity” into the sites functionality, enabling AHG to coordinate global & dealer specific self-managed marketing campaigns across all 103 dealership sites with seamless integration to AHG’s master site. It also provides valuable data insights into user’s preferences to allow for more targeted promotions.
Development was conducted in HTML5 & JavaScript to provide a rich user experience far superior to the standard mobile website offering, allowing for intuitive navigation in the form of swipe-to-view & tap-to-view features. The site incorporates click-to-call, “remember selection” options, Social media sharing on twitter & Facebook, & integration with Google maps for navigation to dealership locations. The search function offers “quick search” by keywords and list filters within search results so users can get to the point at the speed they desire. Gomeeki was really going for a user centric experience which would leave a positive impression of AHG’s brand thereby stimulating increased customer loyalty & greater uptake of post-purchase service offerings.
